I don't know many folks who ride bikes other than my son and his 8year old mates, but if I were to start, it would be this bike and helmet combo from CycleChic!
My Hero!
The Kenneth has promised to buy me a dress for the wedding at the weekend. YAY! Perfect Man! So I am going to head into town in a couple of hours, choose it, then go for dinner at Wagamma (Two Chicken Katsu Curries please!) and then we are going to see the new Johnny Depp film in the cinema...I forget what it's called. Wish me luck!
Desperately Seeking Cheapness...
Got a wedding this weekend and as usual I don't have anything to wear, and as usual, due to my crappie job and student status, I have no money! Hence the trawling of supermarket clothing websites.
I unearthed this little gem from Asda:
It would fab with my big chunky wedged Aldo Boots
and my next hairstyle:
It would help satisfy my still lingering and unsatisfied lust for Matthew Williamson's pixelated tapestry dress from A/W 08. Ebay is offering me nothing, except all the H&M stuff, or the dreaded 'Butterfly' Debenhams range. Gahhhhh!
I felt that I couldn't keep this bargain (£16) to myself, especially when two of my friends and fellow Glasgow Craft Mafia members, We Are The Robots, are sooo obsessed with pixelations, so I facebooked the link to them. What a good soul I am! The dress would look amazing with one of their pixelated necklaces...

Pretty Raccoons in Glasgow
While adding all the Glasgow Craft Mafia members' blog links to my blog roll, I was delighted to be reminded of one of my favourite tops. Emma at Show Pony can be seen modeling some Pretty Raccoon tops and dresses for the new online (Glasgow based) store, Hannah Zakari. I bought my red antler sweater from Pretty Raccoon's etsy store a year or so ago, and wore it for about 7 days straight. Needless to say, after these photos were taken in The Buff Club on a bit of boozy night out, it had to be washed and rested for a while.
(Cheesy grin alert!)
I totally remember shouting at my mate, 'quick, take a picture of my top!' lol.
I hope that Hannah Zakari stocks the fab super-low-v-neck Bow Tops soon as I am too tight these days to pay for the super-high-delivery from America!
MAY'S GLASGOW CRAFT MAFIA MARKETS!
The Mafia Social Swap Shop
This Thursday at 6pm in The Butterfly & Pig, there will be a very special Glasgow Craft Mafia Social, that will take the form of a crafty swap shop. The idea is to bring along your crafty supplies like buttons, material etc and to swap them with someone else! One person's treasure and all that. The social is open to members and non-members and is of course FREE, like all of our events! If you don't have anything to swap, then not to worry, the Social is a perfect way to meet like-minded crafty folks and a great excuse to have a drink and one of the B&P's famous burgers. Mmmmmmmm!
My Summer Festival get-up...
We have tickets for T in the Park, but I doubt we will go. The line-up is really good, but comprises mostly of bands that The Kenneth and I have seen three or four times already including, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand, James, Maximo Park, Bloc Party etc etc. And don't even get me started on the toilets. The toilets at T are awful. The thought of mixing with the rif raf that attend T in the Park also leaves me cold. The last couple of years, I have felt that less and less people are going for the music and more to get drunk/drugged up/cause fights which does nothing for the stereotypical image of Glasgow louts.
Pukkelpop on the other hand, is completely different. The line-up already rivals T, with N*E*R*D, Kraftwerk and Arctic Monkeys. The Monkeys, I can take or leave, but N*E*R*D's first album, is one of my favourites ever! Shortly after I first starting dating The Kenneth, we went through to Edinburgh for the MTV Europe Music Awards After Show gig where N*E*R*D were playing. It was amazing! Justin Timberlake, (baring in mind this was at the peak of his solo career), came out on stage and everyone went mental! Such a good night! And on top of that fantastic news, the toilets at Pukkelpop are always being cleaned, and there is absolutely no drunk rowdy folk. (I just re-read that last sentence...I am obviously getting older!)
Anyway, regardless what festival we go to this year (PUKKELPOP!), I have been looking online for some festival friendly clothing. Forget about wellies, waterproof trousers and cagouls. Pukkelpop is in Belgium and for the last three years, the weather has been roasting!
I found this cute outfit on the always fabulous Topshop website that is perfect for strolling around scoffing Mexican Wraps, drinking Cherry Beer and listening to the best music!
A tiny bit GAGA...
I had an interesting shoot in Ayr a couple of weeks ago with Photographer Colleen McMahon, Model Sara Millar and Make Up Artist Kaeleigh Wallace. The theme was Lady Ga Ga. *shudders*
I found a HUGE glitter ball in my old room at my parent's house which I thought would be perfect, coupled with that hair bow, loads of spandex, and some pop attitude, I think we nailed it! Have a wee look...
The shoot was good fun, having worked with both Sara and Kaeleigh before, it was great to catch up and have a giggle! It was quite a chaotic shoot, as there was no dressing area prepared...we had to get the model's make up and clothing on in the public toilets!!! Poor Kaeleigh kept being mistaken by young girls for a face painter! LOL. And I think that the toilet attendant thought we were crazy!
